B.B.Q-bean chili dogs

I am sorry I have been away but I do have a few interesting things for you to try.

Over the long weekend my family gave these a try and they LOVED them! We are not a fan of canned baked beans. As well with all the diet restrictions they just don't work for us. But these beans that you make yourself in about 20-30 min were soooooo good. That the left overs were eaten on their own!

Give these a try and let me know what you think. Just note these are messy!

What You Need:

1 can kidney beans, rinsed
1 can black beans, rinsed
1 cup Kraft Brown sugar BBQ sauce
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog bund
4 cheese slices, cut diagonally in half

Put It Together:

Bring rinsed beans, BBQ sauce and spices to a boil in sauce pot

Stirring frequently on medium-high heat for about 20 min

warm up grill to medium heat, Give BBQ a good spray with cooking spray and grill hot dogs for about 10 min or until cooked. Add bun the last minute to toast them.

once cooked and toasted remove from the grill and place cheese slice halves into buns

Add Grilled hot dogs

Top with BBQ beans serve and enjoy!

My Meomries Scrapbooking Digital Scrapbooking Software #Review and #Giveaway!

In the last few weeks I was given the opportunity to try out this product and asked to give an honest review.

The product is the My Memories suite Digital Scrapbooking Software. The offered me a free copy to download and asked that I give it a try. All I had to do was give an honest review.

So here goes nothing!

Please note I am not crafty by nature. I wish I could actually scrapbook and have it turn out as pretty as I envisioned it. So this may be my ticket to still have those pretty things!

First you need to have a minimum of 10 GB free on your PC to have the ability to download the software. It took about 1.5 hrs to complete the down load and get up and running. Ok that aside it was pretty easy to get going on a test project. At first I had no idea what I was doing and was like hum how they hey am I suppose to make this go where I want it? But they have some really awesome tutorials and it really does walk you thought any problems you may have. As well it give's you  two options you can chose from templates and pages already created (I SO LOVED THIS! Again I am not crafty!) or you can start from a blank page and have as much fun as you can envision!

Now here comes something even better they have a free category on the website where you can download more things that have already been created to add to your project. I really liked this as well!

Here are 3 examples of things I did:

I think they are pretty awesome if I do say so myself! They offer you so many options you can create movies with your pages. Print them off at home. They even offer a service to send in your project into them and they will actually create gifts and photo books for you.

I will so be doing all kinds of stuff with this program with all the pictures I have that are boxed up and put away.

The people at My memories have offered me the chance to offer a FREE copy to one of my readers as a very nice Giveaway! If you would like more info on their products and services Please go to www.mymemories.com

Now time for the Giveaway!!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Stay tuned for more Awesome stuff from My Memories :)

Chocolate and Maple Glazed Homemade Donuts and Donut Holes

Happy Monday everyone!! Well I have been hard at work the last few days and have decided since you all loved the Homemade Donuts and Donut Holes post sooooo much as did my kids who got to eat them. I thought I would post a few new flavors for everyone to try.

I think I got maybe 2 donut holes out of this batch this time. The Teens had their friends over and before they were even set the donuts were gone. I was lucky to get the few pictures I got lol.

Note To self: DO NOT TELL PEOPLE YOU ARE MAKING DONUTS IF YOU WANT ONE!

Lesson learned!

So I have 2 really easy glazes for you. Most of the stuff you should already have around the house.

If you want the actual donut recipe you can click here or the link above.

What You Need:

2 cups powdered sugar, divided
5 tbsp. Milk, divided
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp. Maple syrup or table syrup

Chocolate Glaze:

In small bowl put 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Add 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tbsp. milk

Give a good whisk and you have chocolate glaze! When dipping donuts in glaze make sure they are good and cooled and only dip one side. Let sit for about 10 minutes then serve!

1 cup powdered sugar

Add vanilla remaining milk and Maple syrup

Give a good whisk and you have maple glaze! this you can glaze on both the large donuts and donut holes!

The Rainforest Cafe Through my Kids eyes!

We are a big family & we don't always get to go out into public as a family. Frankly it takes a lot to get us all out the door lol!

So when we had a chance to take the wee ones out for a "safari inside" they were game!

Now I admit the Rainforest Cafe is a very tourist spot & the prices match that. But to watch my kids eyes light up when the elephants beside us started moving like a stampede their squeals of delight will be something that will stay with me forever.

I decided to give the toddlers my phone to run around and take pictures. Here are a few that I really enjoy.

Lastly they were very interested with the "man in the pool"

It is always a wonder for me to look at the world from their eyes. Find out what catches their attention & interests them.

Maybe next time your out hand your kids the camera & see what they are seeing!

Berry-Stuffed French Toast with Custard Sauce (With a Mother's Day Story)

Now doesn't that title alone make you go "Yummmmmm!"? Well it did for me and that is what I planed for myself and my Sister for Mother's day breakfast instead of what the kids have made a "tradition" for the last 3 years.

Now I know your probably asking why would I go a head and brake a tradition that mine and my sisters kids have put in place.

The answer to that is so very simply. The "Tradition" in which I speak of is not very yummy at all. Actually its just down right EWWW. See what they were doing is getting two of my Champaign flutes down and putting grapes or cut up apples in the bottom then taking the can of whipped cream and putting it on top repeating till the glass was full. Now I am not knocking the gesture. It will be memories that I have forever. But lets be honest here it's not a good combination at all at about oh lets say 7:00 am or really ever if I want to be totally transparent.

So I made a plan days in advance that I would beat them all up and make sure there was a decent breakfast going ahead of time. I actually started the night before so that I could sleep in fore a few extra minutes. 1 point for mom! Well my plan worked as the Teens were getting up I said "Good Morning!" which startled them all. Point 2 for mom! Yay I am on a roll here. I said "I have that fancy French toast cooking." To which I get a reply of "Oh that smells good! But I was going to make you eggs and toast!" Ok so that is only a 1/2 point for me! "But hey its ok Ma I'll eat it anyways!"

To which we all did. It was very good. It was a good combination of everything... It will be something I make again for Bruch when company is coming!
